a little life update...

Image
Hello and welcome back or welcome to the blog! I feel like I haven’t done an update on my general life in a while and due to being a bit quiet on social media recently, I felt this post couldn’t come at a better time! I have a few points (to do with the blog and life) I’d like to update you on, to explain what the future plans are for the blog, as well as just a general life ramble! The first and probably the most major point I would like to make is to say that I am not going to be very active this week , and there is only going to be this post going live this week (this one), as I am participating in an online summer school in preparation for university. This was meant to be in my chosen destination but obviously corona has cancelled it (like everything else in the future right now), so I am having to sit at my desk for the week in online lectures and seminars. Due to the intense timetable us psychology students have been given; I am going to focus on completing this work rather tha

my june goals: have i achieved them?

Image
At the end of last month, I set some goals to keep me on track during the month of June, as looking back on May, it wasn’t exactly the best month for me, and I didn’t want June to be a repeat of that. I decided to write this post to document my progress, as I like to try and keep my little internet bubble somewhere positive and somewhere that I can encourage growth, self-love and progression in all areas of life! I set 5 goals at the end of May, and looking back on the post I wrote, I feel like I have been quite successful (without spoiling too much…) Find the original post here . goal one- to keep my mental health up This goal was the key one for me, and I’m so happy to say I have achieved this! Of course not every day is perfect and I have had a few wobbles, particularly the few days before the beginning of my period (I’m so emotional at that time and can’t lie I hate it), but that was near the start of the month and as I’m writing this, I’m honestly the happiest I’ve been in a

a classic q&a!

When looking back on my return to blogging, I realised I haven’t actually shared too much information about myself. I’ve been back just over 2 months now, and felt a sort of ‘get to know me’ post is needed. I asked for questions on Instagram and got a fair few back so I’d just like to say a massive thank you to anyone who sent in a question! Biggest Blogging Inspiration? I would have to say my biggest inspirations are the two girls who got me started on blogging in the first place: Grace (Grace Kate) and Kate (LuxeKate). These girls are both my age so are relatable and both their Instagram and Blog posts inspire me to create some amazing content! I do also have another inspiration but isn’t a blogger, she is a YouTuber: Eve Cornwell. I love this woman. Her YouTube videos have inspired me to change my content as I have mentioned in last week’s post, and I love watching her deep dive case videos. Do you have any pets? I actually don’t have any pets, but would love a dog! It would

3 ways to make your spotify 'aesthetic'

Image
Music is something that makes me so happy, and you find me listening to it a lot of the time (as I’m writing this I have my summer playlist on), whether that be with my airpods in and being respectful to everyone, blasting out my records, or just having a party in my room (this happens more often than not!). I use and update my spotify account regularly, and like to keep it as ‘aesthetic’ as possible, and there are ways to do this. I will link my spotify below if you’d like any inspiration 😊 1.       Update your playlists regularly. New songs are released weekly, and you can often find songs that you forget about but never add them to playlists. By updating playlists, it means you’re not having the same selection of songs on repeat, which can eventually get boring. As well as adding new songs, removing songs you don’t like as much anymore or don’t fit a certain vibe in a playlist, it can help you to enjoy some playlists a lot more, rather than having to skip so many songs before f

Welcome or welcome back to my blog for this little extra post! The lovely Molly from MLH Blog and I have been working together, each having a post featuring on each other’s blogs! Molly is a fantastic blogger and new to the wonderful blogging community, so I thought the best idea was a 20 questions post, to get to know her better! 1. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? I think so, yeah! The majority of the time I am positive and productive; The people I like being around are those types of people so yeah. 2. What’s your go-to snack? If I am feeling healthy it would be strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, but if I am feeling unhealthy it would be either Biscoff Biscuits or No Shell Skittles! 3. What are your main hobbies? Photography, watercolour painting, blogging, graphic design... basically anything creative! 4. How would you describe your style? Comfort over anything else! I love comfy jumpers and leggings… I am very plain and boring

times are changing...

It’s been a couple of months since I relaunched my blog now, and its fair to say I’m loving being back. When I started writing and posting again, I was just writing what I wanted to write in a variety of niche topics. But looking back on it now, I haven’t been writing the posts I am truly passionate about. I recently wrote a post for another blog and I really liked exploring a different style of writing. It was very different and a lot more research based than just sharing my own opinion, and I found writing it a lot more enjoyable than some of the other posts I have previously written. This has allowed me to think so much more about my niche as a blogger: I don’t just want to be a lifestyle blogger anymore. ‘Lifestyle’ is such a broad topic and I believe sometimes you can lose yourself in it, which has previously resulted in me having writers block. I am trying to avoid this and the best way of doing it is to change my niche: I have a passion for productivity, positivity and acade

how to survive year 13

Image
The day this post goes live would have been the day I would have finished my A-Level exams, which to me feels very weird considering I haven’t covered any A-Level content in just under 3 months! Obviously without the exams, I can’t give a full review of the year, but of the 6 months I was in year 13 for, I am going to write a ‘survival guide’ as such. Year 13 has been a tough year and I can share my advice for those currently in year 12. Year 13 for UK students is the equivalent to 12 th grade in America (senior year). The first tip I have is to GET YOUR UCAS DONE . If you are wanting to apply to university, UCAS applications are crucial, and will be what most teachers will talk about for the first part of the year. I started my application in September, but put off writing my personal statement until the end of November, meaning my application was sent off in December which is fairly late in comparison to others. If you are wanting to pursue medicine/dentistry or are applying to Ox

my style evolution

Image
It’s about time for a throwback on this blog, so I am going to take a trip down memory lane and explore my past fashion choices in the past 5 years, which has been, well… eventful. The reason I’d like to share this is to show how my style has changed and advanced as I have developed from a teen into an adult! We start in 2015, so I was 13, and my go to was a combination of hoodies and patterned leggings, and I’m very happy I moved on from the patterned leggings but my hoodie obsession has got a lot worse! i'm on the right :) I think this was my last year of wearing leggings in thought-out outfits, as I now just wear them for dance, around the house and in outfits with no effort! 2016 was a very basic but sporty year with my outfits. I definitely found my favourite colours this year were blue and monochrome, and I developed a love for skinny jeans in this year! I really stuck to my comfort zone too, and just went back to the basics. From what I remember my go to piece of clo

a-z of god tier foods

Image
As most people know, I am a massive food fan and have been eating a lot during this lockdown period, as there is nothing better to do! Everyone has their own ‘god tier’ foods, so I want to share mine today. This post is not my idea, I must credit the lovely Becca for this idea: I saw her post and loved it so much, so I really wanted to recreate it with my own foods! Becca’s Post: https://www.becc4.co.uk/2020/04/a-z-of-god-tier-foods.html   A: apples (specifically pink lady) Probably my favourite fruit (and I don’t really like fruits), but I love having an apple with banana and a sweet for a low-calorie breakfast! B: bourbons The BEST biscuits in my opinion, but is it pronounced ‘bour-BON’ or ‘bour-BUN’, who knows?? C: cheesecake Best dessert going: at a restaurant, if cheesecake is on the menu, you know I’ll be having it! As well as this, I can make a pretty mean cheesecake myself! D: dough balls Specifically, garlic dough balls. Any form of garlic bread is amazing,
